Easy Refitting Gloves for femV FPP Appearance

Requirements:

My Blender Refit Template

Updated femV body with neck skel template (Optional)

Wolvenkit

Why is this important?

FemV uses an edited MascV's skeleton in first person perspektive. The Arm model for this was edited to make up for some ugliness caused by this rig swap. Gloves will clip into the hand if not edited accordingly.

What it should look like, and will after this guide:

Thanks to EzioMaverick for providing the pics!

1. Download and open the Blender template from the link above. (It was created in version 3.6 LTS in case you have problems with other versions of Blender.) You will see two skeletons properly named in the Outliner window.

2. Import the Mesh you want to fix. In this guide it will be Meredith's outfit (but we only care about the glove part). After you imported this, just delete its own bones:

3. Select all meshes from the model you want to refit, THEN as the last item select the TPP_Skel. Press ctrl+p with this option to parent the meshes to the new rig. You will see they will refit themselves to the FPP arms.

The way I set up the skeleton will already correct the big clip on the thumb in most cases.

4. To bake this position you have to apply the second Armature modifier here:

(Delete the first one if you like)

Repeat this on ALL meshes!

5. Now delete the TPP_Skel and parent all meshes to the FPP_Skel.

6. Overall it looks really good but check for clips before exporting this. In this example there still is some clipping on the inside of the hand. You can easily fix this in edit mode now.

A weight transfer may also be required if there is still clipping ingame. There shouldn't but...you know.

7. For the last step you have to create a copy of the default Meredith mesh (or your working edit of it) and export it to json using Wkit. Follow this guide (step 1-5) to swap the skeletons between models. What you want to do is put the FPP Arm skeleton into the meredith mesh copy. Then process your exported glb with this one to get the new bones into the mesh while keeping all the material information.

For Users of my neck skel template: The updated version has a FPP skel variant included to import your models with. No need to swap any skeletons anymore.

Hope this helps!
